Tilpata Makauda Flyover opens June 15

Noida-Greater Noida Link Gets a Boost: 130-Metre TilpataMakauda Flyover to Open on June 15

After years of delays, commuters travelling between Greater Noida West and East finally have something to celebrate. The much-awaited 130-metre flyover connecting the Tilpata and Makoda roundabouts is set to open to vehicular traffic on June 15, 2026, marking the end of a six-year wait for one of the region’s most anticipated infrastructure projects.

A Project Years in the Making

The flyover was constructed as part of the Dedicated Freight Corridor (DFC) project, with work beginning back in 2020 under the Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India Limited (DFCCIL). However, the journey to completion was anything but smooth. The project missed nearly eight separate deadlines, with construction delays pushing the timeline back repeatedly. Last year, there were plans to open at least one lane of the flyover ahead of the Diwali festival, but incomplete construction work meant that proposal never materialized. Now, with the structure finally ready, residents and commuters can look forward to smoother travel across this key stretch.

What This Means for Commuters

According to Sumit Yadav, Additional Chief Executive Officer (ACEO) of the Greater Noida Authority (as reported by NavBharat Times), the flyover will significantly ease the daily commute for thousands of people. Once operational, the bridge will:

  • Provide a direct link between Greater Noida West and East, cutting down travel time considerably
  •  Reduce traffic congestion at the nearby underpass, which has long been a bottleneck
  • Improve access to industrial hubs, including the UPSIDC Industrial Parks at Surajpur Site-B and Site-C

Who Benefits the Most

The new flyover is expected to be a major relief for residents of several large housing societies in the area, including Shivalik Homes, Ansal Housing, Oasis, Paramount Golf Foreste, and Migson Greens. Workers and employees commuting to and from the Surajpur industrial belt will also find their daily travel considerably more convenient.

Underpass to Get a Makeover Too

One of the more interesting side effects of the flyover’s opening is what it means for the existing underpass. For years, this underpass has struggled with waterlogging during the monsoon season, causing major disruptions. With traffic shifting to the new flyover, authorities plan to reduce pressure on the underpass and finally implement a permanent fix for the waterlogging issue. Beyond drainage improvements, the underpass is also set for a broader facelift, including better lighting, fresh painting, and other infrastructure upgrades — turning a longstanding pain point into a more pleasant and functional passage.

The Bottom Line

The opening of the Tilpata-Makauda flyover on June 15 is more than just the completion of a single bridge — it’s a long-overdue upgrade to the connectivity backbone linking Greater Noida’s eastern and western halves. For residents who have endured years of constructionrelated disruptions and delays, this milestone brings real, tangible relief, and sets the stage for further infrastructure improvements in the area. Stay tuned for more updates on infrastructure developments across Noida and Greater Noida.
